Holl has value to the leafs based on how cheap his deal is. I think Dermott has more upside but Holl makes more sense for the leafs right now. One is likely lost.

If Holl is gone we go back to looking for a top 4 RHD. I don't see any signing for 2M. They'd probably be closer to 4-5M which the Leafs don't have the cap space for.

If Muzzin or Brodie are taken the Leafs will have the money to replace them. In the case of Muzzin they may not even have to replace him and then can re-sign Hyman or pick up Landeskog.

Muzzin is already 32 and he's past his prime now. He's a great player but he's only getting worse from here.

Worst case is they take Holl and now we're stuck without a top 4 RHD again.

We don't have any 3rd round picks and why would Seattle take the guy who's gonna be our 7th D over the guy who's our 4th D.

Brodie has a 5M cap hit. Holl has a 2M cap hit. Larsson probably wants 4.5M. The salary cap is why you can't replace Holl with Larsson.

Anyone giving that to Larsson is nuts. Brodie is a waaaaay better defenseman.

Of course Brodie is better but I rather Larsson and Holl than Brodie and Dermott unless you wanna run 5 LHD. Dermott can't play the right side effectively and has been passed by Sandin on the depth chart.
