exactly. The trade they have is just a little bit more than the asking price for Eichel alone. No way they throw in another big trade piece and a guy who they have no reason to trade whatsoever
I know Buffalo fans (and I as well) tend to over rate our players and prospects.
None of the three prospects are tearing up the AHL.
I actually made a mistake, I wrote: "Take out any four pieces and you have Sam."
I should have written Take out any four pieces and add then you have Sam.
For a player as Sam one typically will get a middling first, decent prospect (that is the key word, someone who has potential but not proven in the NHL) and a young roster player.
The hope is that at least one of the three pieces will become as good as Sam in the future, but the trade is made today to improve the team who gets him.
In this draft Sam is worth the third OA and a small piece.
None of the scouting reports are giving this draft high marks.
In the past four seasons he has 94 goals. Similar to Boeser 94, Ehlers 96, Gaudreau 97, and Tkachuk 97.
People would laugh you out of Cap Friendly if any offered Byfeild one for one for any of them.
But the delusional King fans think the prospects are so great, then they should keep them and develop the team from the draft.
Buffalo already had one GM who rushed the rebuild and we ended up with Dahlin for his efforts, no extra picks, no NHL depth, no NHL defensemen, no prospects.
Do finally, thank you for your comment.
