Use the remaining cap to sign a rhd (Vatanen perhaps) on a short deal and perhaps take another cap dump in order to get a pick

Caufield wasnt falling to 15th either. Zegras was a top 3 talent. Lundell was a top 10 prospect. Yet they all fell. You cant say x prospect isnt falling to whichever ranks you think, theres absolutely no way to know which way a draft will turn out. All the picks I made in my Mock above makes sense for each teams above mtl and theres still many plausible scenario in which Eklund is available at 9

It’s your opinion but if Eklund falls to 9th, I think the Canucks hold onto the pick…
