Carolina have had better offers for Dougie's right already (2nd per reports) and he wants an 8 year deal... so you either need to fork up more, or get someone else.

Not a chance you get Zegras for Marner. They wont do it for Eichel, why in the helpp would they do that for Marner.

Because in a vacuum Marner is worth more then Eichel. Actually salary owned is approximately 6 mill a year compared to 10 mill for Eichel. Eichel health is in question, that’s a serious injury and who knows how it affects his play going forward. Marner was 4th overall in pts last year, 19th the year before, 11th the year before that. He is a closer to a guarantee top player then Eichel and even more so then Zegras.

Ya I’m sure your right. I was playing the hope that Dougie says I’m signing in Toronto so Carolina really only has one option and that to the leafs so a 4th is better then nothing. But again your right I’m sure his rights are easily valued at a 2nd +

Dougie has openly said on more than one occasion that he doesn't enjoy playing in major markets (like CGY, BOS) so I don't understand why Toronto would be an option, other than it's where he's from. He hates the constant criticism he got in Calgary and it would only be worse in Toronto.
