The Big 4 are untouchable (i think they should move on from Mitch, but that's a whole different story)
NONE of Amirov, Robertson, Liljegren, Sandin, Abramov, or Hallander are getting traded. Those are all our top prospects that won't be traded. They won't be traded for any random 3rd liner like others are suggesting in other armchair gms. They are good prospects. Don't sell your ENTIRE FUTURE, like Pittsburgh or Columbus did, and have nothing to work with.
Kerfoot makes 3.5. He is probably gone
Most teams will be interested in Kerfoot. He got a $2 million signing bonus on July 1st, and after that, hes owed $3.45M ( 2ys x $1.725M) over the rest of his contract. Thats very affordable for any team, which will inflate his value more.
It depends on when they trade him. if they plan on trading him after the expansion draft, they do a 7/3/1 expansion protection:
34, 88, 91, 16, 15, 77, 28 (#28 is Joey Anderson)
44, 8, 78
31
If they trade him before, do the same protection plan unless the package of the trade is a pick and prospect
Holl is getting taken by Seattle. Hakstol (Seattle's HC) is the former leafs assistant coach, who put holl with muzzin, and ran the PK. He liked Holl. SEA wont take Spezza, he can just threaten to retire again.
Hyman is gone, 5-6 mill for him is a terrible contract. Hes got a bad knee and those type of players on that contract ends up getting bought out/ buried in the minors sometimes.
Barclay Goodrow is a perfect fit for the Leafs. Perry would be amazing too. Tampa wouldn't have enough cap space to sign him even after they get Tyler Johnsons cap hit of 5 million off of the books.
They could go the route of trading Rielly if they cant come to terms on a reasonable extension.
I could see them moving one of or both of Mikheyev or Engvall if they need more cap flexibity. Both players are easily replaceable. Mikheyev is a good guy, but what else?? He has speed but has no hands since the injury to his wrist. he need a change of scenery, Engvall is just meh imo. Hes a good depth player, nothing special.
I think they could bring in Alex Nylander as a reclamation project. Maybe Engvall goes the other way to CHI. Where would Alex fit in Chicago after the emergence of many good prospects? A.Nylander might need a change of scenery, and having him playing with Willy, they can become a duo. All of the Nylander haters would be mad af seeing WIlly and Alex on the Leafs.
Some Trade Targets could be:
-Konecny
-Garland
-Dvorak
-Bertuzzi
-Forsberg
