Knowing Yzerman, he's going to have something amazing going for Bertuzzi. Like he did with Mantha.

The assets offered here are ok, but still pretty meh and they don't really fill a certain need.

I think Toronto Fans undervalue Bertuzzi and Detroit fans don't want to have to go out and buy another jersey. I think your probably one of the closer deals I have seen. I think maybe a little more greasing.. not much, could seal this.

Nope one again Yzerman wants a high impact winger for Bertuzzi, So without Robertson coming back Yzerman looks elsewhere. There're as many as 7 to 8 other teams that have interest in Bertuzzi Toronto isn't the only one in on him.

They currently have Vrana, Zadina, and Fabbri who are on the roster. Fabbri could be potentially move via TDL since he’s a UFA. In the pipeline they have Berggren and Raymond as solid winger prospects plus a bunch of mid tier wingers. I’d also argue wingers are the easiest to replace and we’re potentially getting another 1-2 this draft.

You should either draft a LD of Wallstedt tho

I’m not a huge top 5/10 pick on a goalie fan. For me to like the move it would have to involve trading back a couple positions (8-9) and acquiring their second rounder in the process or a little more. Either way I have a good tier of players that I’d like to get (some more so than others). Eklund may be redundant but there’s an outside shot he can switch back to center. The top 4 defensemen I like. Guenther looks good and even McTavish offers something we don’t have.

Yup they should, Edvinsson, Hughes or Wallstedt should be the pick 100% if they all go take McTavish

I can live with Kupari. Kaliyev isn’t getting traded. 8OA is also a bit rich considering bertuzzi isn’t elite and the kings will save that pick for a package for an elite player. I can see 2022 lottery protected. Plus another asset or 2

Bertuzzi will be a bidding war and the kings can easily make the trade with DET.

What prospect would you add to that lottery protected first? Or a list of prospects you’d feel is fair value wise.

If the two Hall of Fame players turned GMs were to connect on a deal this summer, Bertuzzi should absolutely be the player involved. A 26-year-old left wing who plays with energy and aggression, he also puts up points. Some might say he’s a poor man’s Matthew Tkachuk. And that’s a high compliment. We first suggested the idea of Bertuzzi to LA several months ago on Kings Of The Podcast and we’re back to double down on the idea. He’s a Restricted Free Agent (RFA) this summer with the Red Wings and is eligible to become a UFA next summer, so the price won’t be peanuts. However, as noted, GM Rob Blake has plenty of assets at his disposal. Add in the fact the Kings would like to move up in the Draft next week (more on that in a separate article), and the idea becomes even more intriguing, as Steve Yzerman is Blake’s most likely trade partner among the seven teams slotted to pick ahead of him. So think big and put a package together that gets LA the two things they’re looking for this summer. It’s possible if you get creative. This would be one of my top three targets.
