Good chance Washington loses vanacek to Seattle and Mikheyev is exempt. Had a great season despite being snake bitten. Created a ton and played well. They might consider it if they don’t get any better offers.

Gotta have at least one defenceman under contract next season exposed to Seattle. So Holl or Dermott needs to be exposed

But Washington is going to lose a player to Seattle. Maybe they feel it's just as well to lose Vanacek than the next player in line. Guess it feels how they value Mikheyev. The 2019/20 was good, 20/21 not so much.

His season last year was great. I thought even better than 19/20. He was doing all the right things but was snake bitten on the score sheet. I think most GM’s and scouts pay a lot less attention to hockey dB than what a player is actually doing on the ice.

It certainly does depend on how they view Mikheyev and who would be the next selection by Seattle. It may also depend on other offers they get.

You're right about Mikheyev's play. His effort, and his "power forward ability" didn't translate into goals or scoring points. I feel the same way about Kerfoot. Good effort, smart player, defensive responsible but seemed to have poor hand around the net.
