no, he was speculating that the conversation starts at either dach or debrincat, and then goes to mitchell and/or boqvist, not that they're asking for all of this at once. debrincat is significantly more valuable than jones on his own, chicago would be absolute idiots to make that trade.

Some media reports on potential Jones deals are actually insane. Maybe they get Mitchell and a pick, Debrincat and Dach shouldnt even be in the conversation. Same with the proposed Girard + Newhook + 1st trade. I wouldnt give up Girard or Newhook for Jones 1 for 1, maybe Timmins and a pick

This isn’t even something I’d offer for Draisaitl, Matthews or Mackinnon. Maybe McDavid, depending on the day.

But for a guy who’s numbers prove that he isn’t very good it’s absolutely absurd. Bowman should be fired, on the spot, if he accepts anything close to this.

While I agree that no sane person should make any trade similar to this there must be more than one whisper about the ask and it being reasonable or at least in the ballpark right. I believe it was previously reported as a first a (very high) prospect and a second. That was about a month ago. And I have to assume offers meeting that criteria flooded in. So the asking price has gone up and this is where we are now. This is the new bar.
