Chances of him being fired seconds after a bad trade are unlikely. This is a hypothetical based on how Stan could use UFA to salvage an overpay for Jones.

Yeah, I would assume wherever he goes he will get 8 years for an AVV between 7.5 - 8 mil per.

I swear to god if they did a trade even remotely similar to this one instead of waiting till next year I’ll lose my sh*t. I would rather pay Hamilton 16 AAV for 7 years than make that trade.

Bring back saad and try to recreate magic while having cost certainty. Would I do it as him heck no but why would be intentionally retool those years and now decide to throw those rough years of high picks out for Seth Jones. If you make that decision to retool you stay with it. He has to be at least that competent right? (hopefully not).

If the deal happens it will most likely be 3-4 pieces (think 21 first, michell, reichel, strome). All very valuable and a major overpay but keeps his core young players together (cat, dach, boqvist)

If CHI gives up any of DeBrincat, Dach, Kubalik in a deal for Jones, I think they lose the deal. Giving up 2 of those guys would be grounds for immediate action to fire the GM.
