Well...I had you in the realm of reasonable (maybe light on the Larsson deal, but I could get past that) in the free agent signings, but we aren't getting those deals from the Bruins or the Avs.

Because Avalanche can’t protect Juolevi and the Bruins aren’t giving away a third and Debrusk for Schmidt. Your free agents likely sign for more and Larsson is very unlikely to sign in Vancouver….

Schmidt doesn’t have value. If he continues his decline his contract is rough. Debrusk, even coming off a down year definitely has value. Take out the pick and its still a no go from boston.

Sakic only fleeces other GM's and Bim Jenning is a fool so it would probably be like Graves for Vans 1st this year lmao.

SEA likely isn't taking on Cap space without incentive so they likely take a no body as there will be plenty of better goalie options.

Bos isn't giving you value for Schmidt who is more or less a cap dump in a league that needs space more than ever.

No idea why Larsson would go to Van of all places unless they drastically overpaid him ala Myers

Not gonna argue most of your points but why do you think Larsson would be so unlikely to sign in Van? Always been a heavy Swedish presence in Vancouver and he could reasonably assume he will be partnered with Quinn? Seems like a highly likely place for him to sign IMO.

Okay so I have seen a ton of Schmidt/DeBrusk swaps on this site from a BOS perspective so I thought I would jump in. Debrusk's value is low right now (agreed). Schmidt is a valuable top 4 guy but agreed his contract brings risk with it. Ultimately, he DOES have value though.

Tis a bad take. I can take constructive criticism but this just isn't true haha. Schmidt has value. Debatable if you think the value presented is fair but his should return assets in any trade he is involved in

Avs are 100% exposing Graves, Canucks would likely protect juolevi, and would definatley protect Graves.
basically Avs get a 3rd for a player to expose in graves place to allow SEA to take him and not another exposed player. not a bad deal IMO

Not debrusk and a 3rd. Not even a 3rd. Nearly 6 mil on a declining guy? That's negative value, bud.

Im assuming you watched all 54 of his games this year to be able to say he is declining. He is a strong, mobile, top 4 guy who can play both sides. Again, agreed the contract looks scary but its literally impossible to say he is declining and certainly does not have negative value.

Bud, he had 15 hits this year. That's not the type of defenseman anyone should want. Better on his right side too. Bruins don't need that either. Overall bad trade. Accept it and move on.

Right so you haven't watched him play. Just accept you're speaking on feeling and not fact and move on. Also didn't realize hits were indicative of good defencemen...

I’m not sure how the Keith trade is going to effect contract talks between him and the oilers because before the trade, it sounded like he was going to be re signed by the oilers.

I don't really care about point totals. We need a big checking d man on the left side. Schmidt isn't it. We have enough softies. Love your persistence but damn.

Oh boy. I guess I jumped too many steps for you eh? The inference you were meant to make was that Boston has a need to improve their d-core. Nate Schmidt plays defence, at a top 4 level, mind you. Therefore, one could surmise that BOS would accept a trade such as the one in this AGM because they would be acquiring a player that can help them in an area where they need help. If I didn't know you were Bruins fan, I do now...

First I thought my avatar of David Pastrnak would give away that I'm a B's fan lol

Now onto the trade. Schmidt saw his number fall back down to earth aka his pre VGK days and he carries a nearly $6 million cap hit for another 4 years....and he's not a $6 million player.

Good player, but not what Boston needs right now.

What I'm saying is that if he's not checking, he better be scoring, and he's not. Simple enough?
