People on this website really don’t grasp what an immovable object OEL contract is with a NMC and posters keep thinking the Canucks or another team are going to give Arizona a 1st or 2nd where if it’s the Canucks the Coyotes would get Myers and 5th rounder or LE and Beagle and 5th rounder for OEL and that is all.

I know nobody wants OEL’s contract. Rumours has it that a potential trade involving swapping Schmidt and OEL could happen with additional pieces in each side. As a Canuck fan I sincerely hope benning doesn’t do this or else I might actually have to hop on a bandwagon and cheer for a new team…

OEL is owed 50M over the next 6 years at an 8.25 M Cap hit......they would have to be taking Schmidt, LE, Roussel AND giving up a high pick or another very good player at minimum. Even then it would be a putrid trade and Canuck fans would lose their minds. Rightfully so.
