We are not trading you Jack Eichel.

It’s amazing that people think this guy deserves a bigger return than Gretzky got.

Not a bad offer but it’s beatable by a handful of other teams and unfortunately Buffalo would probably rather keep an unhappy eichel than trade him within the division.

Gretzky’s return was Jimmy Carson (55 goal scorer) Martin Gelinas (selected 7th overall before that season) , and then 3 additional first round picks on top of that. Have not seen a single trade on here propose more than the value of a 55 goal scorer and 4 first round picks on top of it. If you have then I’d love to see them.

Was not just Gretzky, was also Mike K and McSorley. And everbody was big scorers back then, even the goons.

McSorley was was worth Gelinas. Mike K was a worth a 1st. Leaving a premuim roster player, 2 1sts, and cash for Wayne. 🤷🏻‍♂️ And Gretzky was worth a lot more than Eichel. Carson was more similar to Eichel value, he played 1 year in EDM scoring 100 points and was traded along with a roster player and 5th for 3 good young up and coming players. Which is much closer to Eichel value.

I mean that's a decent overpay for him so you would be pretty foolish not to its fine we will just sign him in 5 years.

I mean, the 1sts are super late and studnicka is in bust territory, debrusk is nothing special, moore is a cap dump and beecher has never had high expectations. Keep in mind we'd be trading him within the division as well, it's very underwheing

Studnicka is definitely not in bust territory (hard to be a bust as a late 2nd round pick) but I’ll agree that Buffalo likely wouldn’t entertain this

he literally might miss half of next season and his health is up in the air and he'd be making the most money on the team by a mile when there are others players significantly better than him. I agree tho I dont see the bruins getting Eichel until he is a FA

I wonder what Matthews, Eichel, McKinnen etc. would have done in the Gretzky era. You make a good point. You are correct, it is an over pay, but not as huge over pay. Make it the three firsts and Studnicka and it is a deal IMO. OK, let's make a deal and agree that Eichel is equal to Carson (I think most would agree that Jack is worth significantly more, but I do not want to muddle this post and I will agree Carson = Eichel).
Let me also add, this is an over payment as I said above, but IMO Studnicka has to be included in any trade.

If you give me three players with the talent of Adam Graves, Petr Klima, and Joe Murphy I would make that trade in a heart beat.
Graves NHL Totals 1152 329 287 616 1224 where is there a player today who could score 300 goals and get 1200 PIM
Klima NHL Totals 786 313 260 573 671 Another 300 career goal player, in 350 fewer games but still added grit with nearly 700 PIM
Murphy NHL Totals 779 233 295 528 810 Certainly not the talent of Graves and Klima but a solid scorer who also added grit.
Three gritty players with nearly 900 career goals.
I can say with certainty that Studnicka will be a good forward and Beecher seems to have a mid six forward ceiling, but 3 late first round draft picks will not and will most likely produce solid AHL players.
So make the trade Studnicka and two more solid prospects.
Since Boston does not have them, the other pieces are included.

On the other hand take your best shot to convince me Beecher, DeBrusk and Moore are the equal of Graves, Klima, and Murphy.
I think it is safe to say DeBrusk at nearly $4,000,000 with only 14 points is more of a cap dump than quality player and Beecher and Moore will not be Graves, Klima nor Murphy.

If you want to make a case that DeBrusk will bounce back, I will send you Skinner and retain part of his salary for a 1st, 2nd and 3rd in a heart beat.
