Islanders Fans on Sorokin

Description
What would the Isles do? They cannot afford to keep all the RFAS, and the Sharks could do what they did to the Hawks, force the hand of the team to give them an RFA like they did for Niemi (offer sheeted Hjarmlsson)

Can the Isles afford Beavillier Pelech and Sorokin?
(I hope not)

So are they moving Ladd? They really lack the cap space currently

Possibly moving Ladd + Hickey if they need, if not they'll be buried. Leddy likely moved. Worst comes to worst they move Varlamov before they risk losing Sorokin, but he's not open to offer sheets I believe.

They do have a limited amount of cap space but they'll be able to clear enough to sign their RFAs who are their main priorities

When they dump Ladd, Komarov, and Hickey, they'll have enough money to lock up their RFAs

Leddy is reportedly on his way out, either via trade or expansion. The same path could be taken with Eberle and/or Varlamov. While they've all proven valuable in the past, Beauvillier, Pelech and Sorokin are going to have the largest impact on our future, so it makes the most sense to prioritize them

the notion that they're in cap hell is overstated.

yeah , last year they were in a much worse position. Moving Leddy and Varlamov would give them close to 20 mill in cap space - Everyone says we have 5.7 mill in cap space just to push a narrative, they don't even account for Boychuk going back on LTIR.

yeah, no way the islanders just let sorokin go. worst comes to worst they move varlamov, but they have 11 mil in cap to sign those three, and that’s without moving anyone/losing anyone to the Kraken

*whispers* they wouldn't have been in cap hell last year either if Boychuk went on LTIR at the end of September.

I feel like LL knew he was going on LTiR as soon as the playoffs ended.

The guy basically was basically tampering lol - telling pelech not to sign with the isles because he won't get what he's worth, just take the 1 year deal and go to UFA. The Rutherford article was even worse - started off by saying that he's not even sure Seattle would take Tarasenko's full contract and then goes on to include beau/wahlstrom/dobson in trade proposals tears of joy

Staple might be the worst though - I'm not sure if he's delusional or just a troll. Said that they could replace Leddy with Staal and sign greene as well. He also looks like an idiot for including beau in trade deadline deals (beau leads the team in goals and points in the isles last 45 games) so now he doubles down and includes beau in every offseason trade

i feel bad for talking on a sharks post lol, Staple doesn't bother me except when he suggests trading Beau. or 6 year deals for Cizikas. hes one of the few NYI writers/bloggers/reporters that is bearable/good.

the guy deserves it for OS sorokin - yeah I disagree, I feel like he writes about certain topics/trades to get fans riled up. Most of the isles writers are arrogant , the only one I like is Graziano .

Lamoriello and Wilson have been trading partners many times before. I could see a deal where Varlamov ends up in San jose
