His arbitration award, at a minimum, is well above the $4.54 million walkaway rate – and any arbitration award would walk him to free agency anyway. Buch has been the better player the past two years and is almost a year younger.

Like I said, based off of name value, NYR adds, because nobody really appreciates how good he is outside of NY market. But in reality I think this trade would go through despite what you said. Monahan is still a very good player and would fit in nicely as a 2C in NY.
