Why would the Kings pay a 3rd and 4th when they could get better scoring from the free agency than Zucker at a similar cap hit? Like Tatar?

i read that the kings wanted to add another top 6 fwd, zucker would fit well in your lineup plus you can even make it two 4th rounders not going to change much for us.. its not much to give up for you.

The fact of free agency is that tatar, saad, hoffmann, hall etc will want to go to a team that likely has a chance to win, so for you to get them you really would need to overpay

Kings definitely have the cap space to overpay, a player getting the opportunity to play with Kopitar on the top-line in a weak division to pad their stats and a beach house to go back to. I think the Kings already took their top-6 player with 30 goal upside but 15 goal floor, they need to find a player who will get them 20+ goals and be a good stop-gap until their players are ready. I'd pay $6.5M for Hyman, Saad, Schwartz or someone similar.

Pettersson's contract is too much for too long for Winnipeg. With Morrissey on the the left side and Heinola and Samberg in the pipeline, the Jets could use a fill in vet for a year, but they don't need 4 years of a LD.
