No way Chicago will retain that much salary and take Neal. Hyman has already reportedly turned down a contract extension offer from the Leafs that starts with a 5.

Lol Detroit isn't giving up anything for a 34 year old replacement level D and a 3rd string goalie

Yes way they will retain that much, if they want something for Keith other then buy him out then they’ll pull it off and that’s my “what if” trade for both teams. Yeah obviously he would turn that down like all year he has but with Edmonton you don’t know what he’ll do, could see Edmonton as a better team to make it all the way so go enjoy your night my lad

Yeah there ain’t anyone special that’s gonna sign long term with a $10,000,000 cap hit there hahaha so they can get anyone’s contact so I picked them plus Russell is better defensively then anyone Detroit has even blocks a lot of shots top five last ten years something fans like you barely know about

You can scratch the last 3 UFA signings all 3 bring nothing to the table 2 of them are AHL vets and Chiasson time in Edmonton is done been here 3 yrs and has done nothing to move the needle, we have younger more talented players to play on the PP
We as oilers fans would love that Kieth trade but zero chance Chicago does that
No need to move Stalock or Russel both are cheap incurrence policies going into training camp
What the hell is the Yotes trade, their going to take 2 cap dumps and player that’s never going to play again, retain 50% on Kessel and through in a proven starting goalie for a second rd pick ???

Yeah I well not scratch anyone off this list lol who are you? their good AHL guys that can at least help hold a lead in the NHL, worst case scenario they bury the contacts ECHL or traded plus Chiasson is great locker room guy, that accepts any role he’s given and he won’t be playing on the power play as you can see I have someone else but I made the Detroit trade to make cap room for Chiasson which I don’t see oilers doing, I just did it because he’s great teammate. Phil Kessel and Duncan Keith are both link to Oilers more Keith, so I made a trade to bring them over but they both can help us in many ways and the trades aren’t that real but could be looked in different ways, maybe move and add a different piece, like from Oilers more even

From your view…YES!!! it’s a possible if they look at it as in Chicago view maybe trading D.Strome could be good too give a younger guy a chance

Detroit declines, not paying for rentals.

Since Yzerman became GM here he has not even once paid any assets for

any player over 24 years of age.

Quine and Gambardella are AHL vets barkersfield can sign then to AHL deals if you think those to guys are the answer to holding leads my question who the hell are you
I could care less about how good Chiasson is in the locker room we pay guys for on ice results and the only time the guy shows any jump it’s when he’s been scratched on gotten back in the lineup but that all disappears in 2 games he’s been here 3 yrs and as done nothing to move the needle forward time to move on from him, sign some hungry guy for league min that knows if he takes one shift off it could be his last in the show, Shore is a prime example of that you get 100% out of him every time he steps over the boards.
Kuemper and Kessel would add to some much needed punch and depth the problem is there both pending UFA’s, no chance Kessel resigns he hates playing in a big hockey market, Kuemper night stick around but he’s already 31 and has battled injuries the last couple yrs.
Kieth at that retained salary I don’t have a problem with just the Hawks aren’t making that trade as it’s configured
The point is this team needs to bring in players either though the UFA market or trade that are still young enough to be signed to multiple yr deals this team can’t continue to turn over a third of its roster every yr if we want to take the next step we don’t get their by resigning or bringing in fringe NHL players
Holland needs to build a team where the whole group can grow together, learn to trust each other, Tampa’s not a beast because they have the most talent, the majority of that teams been together for 5 yrs and they went through the ups and downs together and learned how to become champions.
