Jarred Tinoriss (he will win one) was a great 7-8th d man and was solid in the playoffs. Studnicka getting moved for a guy like Lindholm is ok with me as Beecher and Frederic are in the system and Studnicka has struggled in the NHL. Lindholm would be a great peice for the defense and happens to be on the younger end.

Beecher is projected to be a bottom-6 C, Frederic 4th liner. Studnicka is the only one with some top6 upside. Bruins won't trade him. Lindholm is also UFA next year.

thats just a projection though players can breakout at any point in their career, beecher has the speed and size to play at a high level in the nhl if he can just become a better puck handler and get a little more accurate with his shot then you could be looking at a j. anderson/ tuch/ kreider build like player . stud is supposed to become a top 6 player but he didn't look so hot this season compared to his last 2 before

Studnicka has been horrible in a bruins jersey and has only been good at the AHL level. Also who would he replace in the lineup? There is no room for Studnicka on the bruins unless we start a rebuild.

He wasn't horrible, he wasn't good either but he played on all four lines and both C/RW in 3-4 different stints. Studnicka could have an opportunity on the 3rd line or 4th.

for who? He would be a healthy scratch unless someone gets injured. If the bruins get Hyman and Coleman the top 9 is out of reach for jack, and putting him on the 4th line would just stunt his development.

It's unlikely Bruins add two top9 players. Only way it happens is if they move on from DeBrusk, Ritchie and Kase. Bruins see Studnicka as a top6 C when Krejci/Bergeron retire, they have probably refused several good offers that included him. There is almost no chance they move him (unless it's for a top6 C), not a top4 D with one year left on his deal.

dawg this is assuming they get coleman and hyman not what is happening IRL also Its highly likely DeBrusk, Ritchie and Kase are all gone by next year.

He should replace Kuraly. Better player with more room to grow. Bruins have high expectations for him so they will want to develop him. Full time 4th line center is a good start and go from there.

putting him on the 4th line would be forcing him into a role he does not belong in. Would rather package him and get a first pairing defensemen then a 4th line skill guy

What's wrong with having some skill centering your fourth line? If two teams have equal will almost always the team with more skill will win. In 22 NHL games Jack Studnicka has 1 G and 3A. Those statistics and the fact that you won't even play him on the 4th line but at he same time you think he is going to have value to help you acquire a first pairing defensemen? That defies logic. He is nothing right now, not a 4th line skill guy (your words) not a 3C and not a top 6F. He has no role right now and to find his niche he has to start somewhere and like the majority of NHL players that usually means working your way UP the lineup which means you have to start DOWN in the lineup. If you want to stick with a very very limited non skill guy (my words) in Kuraly centering the 4th line you are welcome too. Just realize that 4th line was terrible last year and isn't going to be much different this year with that decision. You can still go out and get your first pairing defenseman. Just consider improving your 4th line with Studnicka at center.

for me its nots that studnicka isnt good enough its that he doesnt fit the timeline. bruins need a 4th line center but we need a physical 4th line center a 6'1" 175 lb kid won't fill that need. bruins are in a win now mode and need the best players they can get, stud has value but he holds more value to a rebuilding team that has the time to develop him better and unfortunately the one thing bruins don't have is time. we have about 2 really competitive years left before we need to retool or rebuild but by that time stud's skill and value would be wasted. if stud was the key piece to us aquiring a top 4 defenceman or top 6 winger that can help us win the cup next season, yes as much as i like the guy and want him long term in a bruins jersey i know that sacrifices need to be made to win the cup and he could be one of them if the price is right

You have explained yourself well and I see your perspective. What it boils down to for me is that the last two times we traded 1sts and and young prospects in the Nash and Kase deals we really took it on the chin. With the cap room the Bruins have I just feel that free agency is the way to go in acquiring top 4 D and/or top 6 W. There are enough available and the Bruins should be in on many. Of course if DS butchers that like he did the Belesky and Backes signings well.....At least the Craig Smith signing gives me some hope that he can get it right. Keep the picks and the young prospects because the retool/rebuild you bring up might only be one year away. Studnicka will only be 23 at that point so it would not be a waste of his skill and value. At least tell me we can do better than Kuraly as our "physical 4th line center". Either way the next 3 weeks will be interesting!

i am very excited they need to make some big changes and if im being honest the only way id be satisfied moving stud is if it's for garland, graves or some around that skill level and under the age of 26 because atleast they still have a future not a past like players like ekholm and tarasenko who don't hold much value for us if we weren't to win next year
