STL doesn't do that. They are still a contending team so they are going to want to use that free cap space they would have if they got rid of Vlady and go after some good depth players. That's not enough for STL to retain half his salary

They said they don’t want futures. And the only roster player that could be traded is Rielly, which I doubt. Unless an extension doesn’t get signed, but then why would STL do it without an extension.

I think Pens accept that. Just b/c the organization seems set on signing a vet back-up-1B goalie to go along with Jarry. Not because he isn’t a valuable player. He definitely proved he belongs.

I don’t think the Pens are gonna get better though. Especially for the price.

DeSmith is a very capable, proven, NHL back-up-1B goalie. Look at his stats. As good as Freddy’s actually. And DeSmith is on a good contract.

I actually hope the Pens keep him and just run with Jarry and DeSmith again.

If he was able to give Jarry a rest, a night off. Or he could have gotten hot and the Pens could’ve rode him until he cooled down. Like happened during the regular season acouple times.

Raask, Ullmark, Driedger are better. Freddy and J.Bernier...But at what price?? And maybe Mrazek??DeSmith is a better option than every other FA goalie available, other than that, in my opinion.

You know they messed up his shoulder by missing stuff twice and he no longer trusts them

This looks a lot like "Let's give the Blues a pile of doo doo and if Tarasenko is actually healed, we will have stolen him." Yes, he's had three shoulder surgeries, but teams interested in Tarasenko are interested in the potential that he is even 80% of what he once was. If they get 100%, then they really capitalize.

No one knows for sure how the shoulder will hold up. What everyone does know for sure is he easily scores 20 goals even with a bum shoulder. If the shoulder is good, he likely scores 30+. That alone is worth more than this offer. Add to that the fact that he's pissed and would come back with his hair on fire too.

They didn't miss anything. He took bad hits multiple times. That's not the doctors fault. Also keep in a mind a lot of reports lately have been dead wrong. It's well known he wasn't happy with ROR being named captain last season too so there are multiple reasons why things have moved south.
