As for Stamkos at 6.5M, don’t see that as cap dump. Plus the playoffs/cup experience is valued. But you’re certainly entitled to your opinion

Ya it’s a big IF, and a doubtful one. The thing is I’m basing this transaction off a TB fans acgm who isn’t dumping him for cap reasons, rather rebuild/retooling for 3-4 years down the road instead of taking the PIT approach of trading off everything and riding the same 5 players through the playoffs and hoping to win again. That means the retention isn’t an issue as they were moving a lot of bigger salaries, we need the retention for that short period of time and would have to pay for it also. Maybe visit their post to have a better understanding

Hey the only team who has a legitimate right to complain about salary cap in the playoffs is St.Louis in 15 TB proposed just that and every team but St.Louis voted against it.

I just doubt Tampa will retain, but maybe a team like Detroit or jersey or even Buffalo retains at the right price. With only 3 years left it wouldn't be too ridiculous of an ask.
