Not that I would accept that Columbus trade anyway, but what Reinhart wants means nothing. If Buffalo decides to trade him he will go wherever the best offer is regardless of whether or not he wants to. It’s not buffalo’s problem if that team can’t get him to sign an extension.

If Reinhart doesn't go to a team of his own chosen, Then he just signs his one year salary arbitration deal and walks next summer. Then he's a one year rental and Adams doesn't get much value for him.

I am assuming that any trade involving Reinhart before the season begins would include the chance to negotiate an extension before the trade is completed. If buffalo doesn’t get the offer they want they probably hang onto him until someone is prepared to pay their asking price, even if it is the trade deadline next season.

My point is they’re giving up basically Kakko, two unknowns plus only one first round pick. They would have to do that.
