Man people need to stop forcing a trade to get rid of Byron!!! You’re trading Byron along with a 1st round pick to save 3.5M on the cap, yet you still have 3.5M of cap space so you didn’t even use it. So right there, this proposal makes no sense. Secondly, his contract really isn’t that bad. People are so obsessed with cap space…Byron is fine. Let him play it out this year and then yea you can trade him for a lot less or just keep him again. Trading a 1st round pick to get rid of a 3.4M AAV for 2 seasons for a player whose value is maybe more like 2M is absolutely ridiculous. If his AAV was 2M no one would care so really it’s just 1.4M that you would be saving once you factor the loss in value.

Dude u need this 3.5M on the cap because next year the cap will still be flat and u will need to sign Suzuki - Romanov. With the type of hockey Suzuki give to the habs he will probably extend 8 year around 7M per year. U NEED THAT CAP SPACE

Yeah next year. At that point he will only have a year left so it will cost far less to get rid of them then if we have to. Additionally if he goes out and has an amazing year this year then problem solved. I understand we need Space to re-sign those two players, but that’s only next year so I don’t understand why you’re trying to do this all this year when it would cost for less to do it next year.
