So the Wild trade is basically Dumba for Schmaltz and Greenway for a 2nd?

I'd say no if I was MN, but I don't think Schmaltz is the center they need. I would rather keep Greenway too.

5 years of Schmaltz > 2 years of Dumba
Greenway > Early 2nd round pick
The difference between Schmaltz 5 years and Dumba 2 years make it even IMO

The term and dollars on Schmaltz contract. I’d at least want the CBJ 2nd, but if my back was against the wall for expansion I would consider. I would personally rather have Dumba for and the flexibility of letting his contract walk in 2 years than being locked into 5 years of Schmaltz. He’s not a bad player but not one I want term with.

I don't think the overall value is off, just not a trade I'd make. I'm fine calling a Dumba for Schmaltz hokey trade, just to avoid whichever small piece makes it even. There is just a lot I don't like about Schmaltz.
