That's an awful trade for rielly. A 3rd pairing defender does not net you a 1st pairing one

I am sure you can easily get rid of your third line overpaid center . I see him on every Leaf fan proposal so he must be super good.

I would absolutely keep him if Keefe actually played him like a winger, which he is better suited for. But the fact he can play Center, in you top 6 or top 9, plays the PK and PP, he is most certainly not a cap dump.

I beg to differ. If he wasn't a cap dump how come I have seen at least 200 proposals on here of Leaf fans trying to move his contract? Because he is such a bargain? One day for the hell of it count how many times someone is trying to move him on here . Him and Reilly are easily the two most popular traded players .

Because there are about 200 trolls on here that pretend to be Leaf fans to get a rise out of people. Ladd, Eriksson, Lucic, Neal, etc are cap dumps. And if the Leafs didn’t have over 40 mil tied to 4 FWDs in a pandemic world with a flat cap where every dollar counts and in need of a shutdown 3C, then yes, you will his name being moved.

Rielly is a FA next year would should not be resigned. They have Muzzin locked up and Sandin needing more mins. Andersen, Hyman, JVR, Bozak all walked in free agency. The Leafs can’t use Rielly as an internal FA. That’s terrible asset management.

You just said yourself you have so much tied up in cap on 4 players you need to move cap. We call them cap dumps. You want us to take your player that we don't want and you want us to give a high draft Pick. pick. I bet you Vancouver aren't even thinking about Kerfoot and his contract.

I’m not even arguing about that, Kerfoot did make sense to VAN before a healthy Beagle. Now he doesn’t. VAN has Beagle as the 3C

I will tell you there is zero mention of Kerfoot or Reilly in Vancouver media or insiders. I know TOR are trying to move cap but unfortunately it wont be here. If Vancouver and Toronto did talk about a trade it would be very underwhelming like a Kerfoot for Beagle where you save one year of cap. There is no way a high draft pick or a solid prospect would be going the other way.

Reinhart I can see and a lot has been mentioned quite a bit but Kerfoot and Reilly have not. Just because someone has grouped a bunch of names and hope one names stick does not mean there is interest.

Prefer to keep a shutdown guy who is better defensively, we have enough puck movers, albeit not at Reilly's level but they are around 20 years old too so can't expect that just yet.
