Don’t think the offer to the canes is unreasonable. I could see them doing it instead of exposing bean in the expansion draft. I however think they will expose skjei

skjei is the better defenseman now for a team in win now mode, bean has some upside but i dont think has lived up to expectations yet, every where i look people have it going both ways

Yeah bean was very good at the start of the season and then he faded as the season went on. No question skjei is better now but exposing him could also open over 5 mil on cap space. Either way, the canes d core will look much different next year assuming Hamilton leaves

nah thats such a long shot, also would depend what bertuzzi signed for, maybe he takes a 3.5M for 2 years to go to the two time defending cup champs.....if they win

If Columbus moves Werenski, a center would have to be in the trade, not another wing. Highly doubtful they consider this trade.

The only way a competing Canes team lets Skjei go unprotected is if they are positive that Hamilton comes back and they can backfill the top 4 spot with a UFA like Martinez. Bean is not a top 4 defenseman in the NHL. He’s a 5/6 defender with PP time.

As Detroit GM I'd say no to all of them except Tampa. CBJ trade is nice but I'd be patient and wait till Werenski is a Free Agent. I like the Nashville trade but don't think it is the return that Bert should get. If I'm the Canes, Chicago, Dallas, Florida, and Nashville I would say yes. For the Tampa trade, I think they might take a second to think if you replace Gourde with Cirelli...but I'm not sure if Detroit would want that group and not sure Tampa would want to give up that much. Fun exercise though! Thanks!

Yeah, that CBJ trade is a big undersell.

Look at it this way - the market for Seth Jones right now?

            Werenski’s return will be bigger.

I feel if I traded Bertuzzi it would have top two centre potential or top LD potential. Hope you enjoy the others as well.
