If we did that Eichel deal and moved Tkachuk you would have to get a winger, preferably a rw, for Monahan. No point in getting a right side dman. Those top 6 wingers look terrible.

That’s fair, a gaudreau bounceback and dube breakout would make it alright. I’d argue that without Jones, the defence is barren and lacks size.

Would rather flip Monahan and package more assets for Eichel instead of moving Tkachuk

imo tkachuk is the only piece that’s attractive enough to get the attention of the sabres. Monahan doesn’t really fit their age range

instead of Janmark and Rodrigues pay a little more for Danault and have him center between Coleman and Lindholm

You are right and Sabres fans will give up on some offensive production for some physicality and attitude

Personally I would pass on Coleman. He seems like hes going to be a hot commodity this summer and is going to be overpaid wherever he ends up.

Thats an interesting point. Think of the ror trade where we got 2 cap dumps and some other worthless stuff, and less than a year later, ror wins a cup and a conn smythe. I know the moral of the story in buffalo is "my god, how could pegula and botterill be THAT stupid?", but around the league, 29 other gms should have been looking pretty hard at whether they couldnt top that offer to steal ror.

That is probably exactly the type of deal that gets done for Eichel. Not sure Calgary would actually step up with it. Pretty balanced trade though.
