Youre all over the map here. Who cares what they already have? Should tampa trade point for a 3rd bc they already have kucherov stamkos cirelli hedman and vasilevskiy? Passing up on the prime of johnson/mctavish/lysell/sillinger to move cap for 1 year where youre not going to go anywhere significant is just stupid.

Considering Tampa is 18M over the cap, I figure that moving a strong player on their roster for peanuts is the only option that they really have. Johnson is likely going to Seattle, Killorn is likely to be moved, but then they still have 9M to juggle to get under the cap.

I'm just saying that a weak Pacific makes it more likely for Vancouver to succeed. They have the depth at Wing to where a prospect that they draft won't be roster ready.
They could use the money to bring in Morgan Reilly, or Taylor Hall etc etc. They could very well be a strong playoff contender in 2021/22 if they make a couple of moves.
You also want to show the players you are serious in competing. I don't know if a constant retool is what players want to be a part of.

Its not a constant retool you have to be a little patient, its a process. If you do make this deal its a constant retool bc they wont be good enough to get over the hump but they wont have any more young talent in the pipeline.

The Canucks have been fiddling with the roster for years. They thought Eriksson/Roussel/Sutter etc were going to get them over the hump, and they didn't live up to expectations. The Canucks need more in their bottom 6, since they are struggling a bit in that category.
Gadjovich/Podkolzin/Lind could help their depth tremendously. Moving money allocated in bad contracts could help them bolster their bottom 6 to succeed a little better. Heck they could do Chris Tierney for 2021 1st/Eriksson/Beagle if they wanted. Tierney has been a great help on the development of Batherson/Stutzle and could do the same for Podkolzin/Lind. Then they can sign other depth to be successful.
I would rather them try to compete now, rather than a few years down the road when Petey/Hughes are off their bridge deals.

Its literally 1 more year before those contracts are gone for free and if you want tierney so bad trade a 3rd for him (thats what ive seen as the going rate). Why are you moving 9 OA when theres no need.
