The rules clearly state that ANY form of cap circumvention will result in penalties up to and including forfeiture of games until such time that the team becomes cap compliant. How far do you seriously think Tampa would have gotten if they had to move out 19 Mil in cap? Let's look at the players that would require gone. 9.5 Mil Kutcherov (leading playoff scorer) Gone! Vasilevsky 9.5 Mil (one if the best goalies in the League) Gone! = 19 Mil now how far do the Lightening get having to run McElhinnney, Gibson or Martin as their Starter?
