Description
Habs are built for playoff hockey. but they need more firepower to get to the playoffs. they're playing in arguably the toughest division in hockey with Tampa, Toronto, Boston and Florida. Ottawa will be a good team too. They'll need to keep Allen and rest Price as much as possible. Habs need firepower from the backend. Risto, Dunn, and Deangelo assist in that. Risto and TDA can rotate if need be. Dunn can become a good partner for weber imo. he can move the puck and he's statistically underrated. The KK Anderson Hoffman line was built on the idea that both wingers are north south players. Hoffman has an amazing shot and Anderson can fly up and down. KK on that line provides a good player maker whose only getting better. I often forget he's only 20. The first line speaks for itself. That line has a potential 35-40 goal scorer in caufield and suzuki and toffoli have proven to be stars. the 3rd line is that hardworking chequing line with a scoring touch. putting poehling on danault's wing is critically important imo as he can learn from the best of the best in terms of a shut down game. plus his skill can add some offense on that line as well. brock mcginn is a swiss army knife imo and the Habs should go hard after him. i signed perry staal and getzlaf because those guys bring playoff experience and can step it up come playoff time. those guys wont play a full 82 game season and neither should they because of their age. get them rest and prepped for playoffs.

Tony will be bought out, so you'll probably end up being able to sign him for about the same as Chiarot.

Deangelo cleared waivers and they couldn't even get an AHL team to take him because of how toxic he is. There was a rumor the Habs were going to deal for him and the fan base practically exploded. Bergevin has to be crazy to sign that guy.

For the rest, I mean McGinn is a solid player, but I'm not sure he's worth a 2nd, 4th, Fleury and Kulak more than Byron. Losing Drouin for a rental (because they don't have the money to resign Risto) would definitely sting, but it might be the best deal available. I'd want to look at every other option first though.

fair enough about drouin. idc bergevin cares what the fan base says. TDA is a need for the habs. off ice hes a pain, but hes skills in invaluable to a team like mt.

It might anger the fan base, but ultimately, not enough people pay attention to those details to really move the needle when it comes to decision making. Someone will sign him, and he might be a steal if he performs. Awful people are in positions of power everywhere you turn. This dude just plays hockey.

lmao facts. i think the rangets situation was bad because it was repetitive but i think he has to realize that mtl may be his last lifeline to long-term career in the best hockey league in the world.

I was super adversarial and headstrong until like 31, and I'm nobody. I hope he's got people in his circle that can help him see what you've pointed out. It might very well be his last shot.
