The best possible Bruins offseason would be an offseason in which the Bruins do not trade for Oliver Ekman-Larsson.

Would love Garland, still on the fence with OEL. I do love the Corey Perry/Blake Coleman moves. Just seems like the kind of guys the B's need down in the bottom 6. Add a little more nasty. Cant see Kuraly back.

I'm also on the fence with OEL, but I think he is more likely to revive his career in a new setting than most other D-men who may be on the move, and the Bruins need to be aggressive in trying to get Bergeron/Marchand/Krejci/Tuukka another cup. I can almost guarantee his play will improve if he were to be moved, and the Bruins' coaching/playstyle seem to work in favor of players in need of a chance of scenery. That's mostly speculation on my end though. I don't doubt the risk involved-and it's only worth it if they manage to get Garland's rights in the deal. They're trying to move DeBrusk anyway, and Vaak's value seems to just get lower and lower. OEL's contract is brutal but if the Coyotes are gonna force him out the door while his value is lower than ever then why not make that trade if you're the Bruins

I get it but I rather play it safe and acquire a player who doesn't have this contract. We'll agree to disagree.

Part of me looks at it and says you put OEL with 73 and life becomes a heck of a lot easier for him. He doesn’t have to lug the mail. He probably is a solid player. If he had 3 years left as opposed to 6 I would be all in. It’ll be interesting. Part of me doesn’t mind bringing in McCabe and Oleksiak for around the same total money as OEL but like I said I’m on the fence. I agree with the Debrusk, Vaak, stuff. Have to make sure the Money is there to sign 73 long term as well, but I think it will be.
