His value is not that high, I doubt we get Eichel cuz the Sabers want a lot and I dont think we should or will give up Dach or Boqvist which would be the main players. Isles aren't paying to get rid of Leddy. Regardless of the cap crunch Leddy is a a 40+ point dman that can skate with the best. His price will certainly be reduced because of the cap but not to the point where the Isles will be the ones paying. He's essentially buy low and flip at the deadline for a team like Detroit, not a cap dump.

Detroit's depth is great, what are you talking about?!? We lack elite players, that's what's hurting us. Adding more depth, doesn't fix that.

The idea that Detroit has space and CAN do it is irrelevant. If it isn't worth it, Detroit declines every time. The cap space is a tool for us to use, not a charity to help other teams.

"Flipping" a player isn't just a thing. Also, he's just not a fit. Square peg, round hole. No matter how you justify it, it makes zero sense for Detroit.
