Simple fix: Swap Chytil for Strome

I was always a fan of Zibanejad, but his underlying impact just isn't the same anymore. Hertl is one of the better players in the league and should be the default 1C on this team.

why would the Ranger's not want any part of that Hertl trade? let's start with some logic....

The Rangers need to add, not a lot but some.

I still don't think this makes them tougher up the middle.

Maybe it's a deadline rental, but it's an older version of Chytil.

The lines are open to change, Hertl could easily end up with Panarin on his left. And long term I'd look to extend him and let Strome walk.
The Rangers have an overabundance of really good prospects on defense. Adding one of them would tip it the other way, but maybe Chytil and Robertson or Jones for Hertl and a 3rd.

This seems like the best trade to make for both sides (SJ really needs to start a rebuild dont they?), but he would be the 2C here and Strome would be traded. I also only would trade for him as long as he's open to an extension with Chytil going the other way.

Eh he's kinda what we hope Chytil becomes, he's also better on face offs and defensively. He's underrated by alot of Ranger fans.. If we could get him for Chytil I'd do it only with an extension tho.

Schmaltz is Arizona's 1C because he's better than Dvorak, does that mean he's an objective 1C? No, of course not

Doesn't mean he isn't either lol. He's certainly not a top-20 center, but he's still near a point per game player with an underrated 2-way game who can absolutely carry a line on his back if need be. He's a solid, if not serviceable 1C.
