That's not an overpay at all for max term for makar. He is giving up all arbitration years and 4 UFA years. You'll see when mcavoy and tkachuk sign their next deals with massive QOs and all the leverage

Jost, Nichushkin and LOC are locks for the bottom 6. Kaut and Bowers are former 1st rd picks and Ranta played against VGK in the playoffs. That isn’t an AHL bottom 6 that’s a top team rolling prospects and ELC’s into the line up.

Ottawa is not paying anything for a goon like Kadri. He's a liability in the playoffs and everytime he gets himself suspended his team is eliminated.
