I just don't see how Dubas can watch this and say we're not changing anything

I'd rather watch a team that gave away marner for free than a team with Marner on it

their is gonna be a change but not to the big 4.

I see the bottom 6 getting a major rework with maybe the addition of another top 4 Dman

you build around these guys with a proper supporting cast

rn the leafs problem is not defense, not goaltending but depth scoring

re-work the bottom 6 and this team will do much much better in the playoffs

Tampa is a prime example

made a third line consisting of Goodrow-Gourde-Coleman is a strong 3rd line that gives them 3 solid scoring lines so when one of their big lines struggles that line can pick up the slack for them.

As of now Toronto rn has 2 scoring lines and a jumbled mess as their bottom 6. When one line struggles the other fills in but who fills in for that line when it struggles. The answer no one.

Tampa top 4 make considerably less though allowing depth

well till next year. Gotta make cap space for 2022. Plus taxes are often a benefactor to low cap hits down in Florida.
