A) Him wanting out of CGY has been debunked
B) Pens and Flames fans have a huge disconnect in which pieces are more valuable

You are trying to say this as if the. Rantanen deal was some great deal for COL. Given he had multiple years of 30 goals 80+ points.
MT doesn't really have that, he also has a reputation with him of dirty play and suspensions.
Here is what I do know, he's not worth over 1/8th of a teams salary cap. Period.
You can try to argue that all day. But those are just facts.
Truth is him at 9 million looks horrible against guys like Pasta and Jake.
Which is really the range one should expect to see him come in at as a RFA. Not 9 million.
Unless you are a winger like Panarin or Kane, who can control the flow of the game, you shouldn't be anywhere near that number.

I agree that it is a very difficult trade to make happen given the Penguins roster and prospects, but he is the exact type of player that the Penguins need right now. Whether or not he wants out or if they can make it work is doubtful, but its fun to think about because he's the perfect player for this team.
