Also I doubt Scheifele will ever step on the ice if Tkachuk is on. With what happened during the play-ins?

Okay but that doesn't make the trade okay. We need right handed wingers not more left handed

Kylington was put on waivers. No one even claimed him.

Obviously NHL GMs have little to no interest in him.

They are friends and afaik still train together in the summer (didn't this year due to restrictions though)

As for the trade both players keep their stars

Kylington was put on waivers literally the day before teams had to be cap compliant along with over 100 other NHL players. He would defnitely be claimed if placed there again

Ok, sure thing man. Really seems like a valued asset in the NHL..

700k isnt too expensive to take on for any NHL GM If the player was valued. Someone would have claimed him.

Mark Friedman is valued. Atleast by 1 GM. Phily tried sneaking him through waivers. He was claimed.

100 guys, most interesting names. Senshyn, Morin, E.Comrie and Kylington. Not too many GMs interested in any of those guys either. Just like HoSung.

Come on man, pick another arguement than a player that passes through waivers is still valued by NHL GMs.

I don't think you are getting this, if you claim a player off waivers you have to put them on your main roster, you can't put them on the Taxi Squad or the minors. Teams were submitting their starting rosters and a lot of them were right up against the cap. Also players like Corey Perry passed through waivers that day is he valued by zero GM's too? The waiver market was flooded and nobody was claimed that day.

I’d imagine they’d probably want Ehlers. So Jets decline. Best offer Jets could make is one with Perfetti + Stanley + Picks. But Calgary doesn’t want that so it looks like the teams just aren’t good trade partners.

Ya, I don’t think u get it. Difference b/ween a 36 year old Corey Perry. Or a “prospect”.

I completely understand how waivers work. If he was valued, like M.Friedman was. He would have been claimed and kept on the roster, been a scratch, and only taken up 700k in cap space.

Especially for a team not competing. For a rebuilding teams GM not to take a chance really shows u.

If a competing team, that was cash strapped, up against the cap, like the Pens, can use a roster spot and keep Friedman on their roster all season, then I’m sure a young, rebuilding would make the room if he was still a valued prospect.

Gmonwy and ledge&dairy are HUGE “homers”
Don’t waste your time

The Jets are actually OVERPAYING in this trade proposal
Calgary would do that deal in a heartbeat

If the deal involves Tkachuk & Connor,
then CALGARY adds

If it’s Copp for Tkachuk,
THEN the Jets add…. But not a ton

If Calgary is getting Connor AND Copp,
then they’re adding quite a bit to just Tkachuk
Maybe Monahan would even that out?

Wow, I totally disagree with this take.

Matthew Tkachuk for Kyle Connor wouldn’t be crazy 1 for 1 deal. But I definitely think Jets add if anything. Tkachuk way better two way player, a lot bigger, way more physical, younger, and just as good offensively.

Copp and Tkachuk arnt even the same caliber of player. I mean not even close.

WAnd Copp is 27 years old. Not a prospect anymore. Not much more potential there. Even with an expanded role u pretty much know what u are getting.

Tkuchuk still has more potential and already has proven to be a way way more dynamic player than copp. Copp hasn’t even had a 20 goal season. Not even in the same realm as Tkachuk.

Mark Friedman is not a good example, he was claimed off waivers mid season. Teams had accrued cap space by then and/or suffered from injuries and needed replacements. I am not saying Kylington is worth a ton but if he was placed on waivers at any random point during the season a team would definitely pick him up for free. He still has top 4 potential as an offensive dman

Not as good offensively…. Not even close

If this season was t shortened, Connor was on pace for 38goals
Had 38 last year also
And 34 the year before
And 31 the year before that
Tkachuk only had ONE season of 30+ goals…. Only ONE

Plus he wants out of CGY, so that lowers his value
*at least that’s what all these clowns are trying to tell me about Eichel & Reinhart 😂😂😂
Plus, the Flames are supposedly sick of his antics

Tkachuk is a really good player
But he had a down year, & comes with some baggage

He doesnt want out of Calgary. Where does it say that. And I’m a Pens fan. I would love for Calgary to talk about trading him.

All This came from one Calgary beat writer saying they should think about trading Tkachuk and start a rebuild.

No quotes from organization saying they have talked about him in trade discussions. No inside sources close to the organization, no NHL insiders saying anything. Nothing from Tkachuk or his camp saying he wants out. Just one beat writers idea.

Calgary is sick of his antics?? Lol.. are u a mind reader now?? Cause I’m sure even if that is true, they wouldnt have put it in print anywhere.

And that’s just goal scoring. That’s not everything offensively.

Playmaking abilities is also considered. Playmaking for your linemates. It’s why assists are a category..lol. And in points they are similar. Net front presence is another thing considered in offensive ability. The Power power. Stick handling, vision:

a lot more offensively than just being a goal scorer.

Compare Tkachuks hits or blocked shots or defensive analytics to Connors..lol.

This is a bad take, did you even watch the Flames this year? You woulda seen him torch us a couple times, his shot is absolutely lethal. He may be a guy that just scores goals, but he does it really well, and ultimately that’s what you need. Him for Tkachuk straight up is pretty close. That being said, I don’t think Calgary does this, because the grit, better defensive play, and leadership fit better under Sutter’s system, and for the Flames organization as a whole, as he’s likely the next captain. If Winnipeg added a great piece then sure, but it would only take a decent/good piece to even the value, and Winnipeg wouldn’t want to part with Connor and a piece that would make Calgary part with Tkachuk, and rightly so from their point of view, so it probably doesn’t happen.

You sure have a lot of opinions for someone who has never posted a good take. Copp and Tkachuk in the same league? Give me a break. You really need to work on how you evaluate players. Not to mention blindly believing the speculations of one guy on a podcast with no insider information.
