I think I would hope that the return for Dumba is better than that. I like the idea of going for younger players who play LD and C, but those are both pretty middling guys. I would aim a little higher on one of their C prospects, or just start with their 1st. And expecting Rossi and Drury to be the top six centers next season is a recipe for disaster.

They told me Suzuki and Jarvis are untouchable. Also, I am pretty high on Drury. Nikishin plays for my favourite KHL team, so I am scouting him pretty much whole season. He has a great future. And also, really hard to get good assets at this point if nobody in the Wild waives and GMBG could threaten other teams with keeping Dumba)

I trust your assessment of Nikishin, because you've definitely watched him more than I have. I have no issues with him as the secondary piece. I guess I'm not as high on Drury as you are, I see him as more of a low end 2C at best, realistically more of a 3C. Which is fine, but it's not great. I don't think Suzuki is as untouchable as Canes fans say he is, to their GM. If Hamilton is gone, they're going to need to replace him to keep the status quo, and continue to be a threat in the East. I don't think a prospect like Suzuki is going to stand in the way of some Cup aspirations, when he likely won't be a difference maker for at least another year or two.

There will be a market for Dumba, it's just up to Guerin to actually capitalize and make the move.

Then lets risk and insert Suzuki. Hope they are not gonna find me)

With the center depth that the canes have the only place Suzuki could fit into the lineup for he canes would be 4C. We have so many center prospects that we can afford to trade away Suzuki to get Dumba. Mind you Jarvis is absolutely untouchable.

I figured Jarvis would be completely untouchable, and that Suzuki would be entirely available for the right piece.

Don’t get me wrong I love Suzuki but right now our center core is just so deep. We would be better off trading for a RHD because it is very likely that Dougie doesn’t return. If it came to a choice between Suzuki or Jarvis I would rather have Jarvis.

For your sake, I hope your management feels the same way as you, because I would love for him to be desperate enough to trade Jarvis for Dumba tears of joy
That would be an excellent deal for the Wild.

Yeah, we made so much reckless moves so that I hope we would sometime benefit from another one's

I think this is a really interesting idea but I wonder if Suzuki is ready for the bigs. I know his eyes injury stunted his growth a bit but I’d be shocked if he doesn’t have a mid 6 floor. My question is whether another year in the AHL elevates him a bit.

If I’m “forced” to take Suzuki rather than Jarvis, I’m not to upset.

I don’t see our gm being stupid enough to trade away someone who is comparable to point and marner on draft day and has only shown that potential again in his short stint in the AHL. In a couple of years he will be an NHL superstar.

It doesn’t make sense for the canes to do this deal pre expansion because it means giving away bean to Seattle. If the canes make any kind of move on defense it’s post expansion

I really like this idea, but will it be enough to convince Kaprizov that we're serious about winning a cup?

Hope so. He is not that constantly dissatisfied guy like some folks. We just need to convince his agent
