Lou despite what people say actually did not help us at all

Then you got the Zaitsev and Marleau contracts which cost us Brown and Jarvis

best thing he came up with is trading 2 2nd round picks for 2 rental 3rd line centers who did jack **** in 2017 and 2018

When he could have traded with NYR for JT Miller and McDonagh or Graves, Hall, or someone at least that could have been useful. To think we could have gave Zaitsev for Hall if Lou was smart

Despite the big 4's contracts I trust Dubas to fix this team better than Lou as lets be real Lou would have traded Nylander so he could keep Martin and Komarov

The good:

The Leafs trade D Dion Phaneuf, F Matt Frattin, F Casey Bailey, F Ryan Rupert, and D Cody Donaghey to the Ottawa Senators for D Jared Cowen, F Colin Greening, F Milan Michalek, F Tobias Lindberg, and a 2017 2nd-round pick.

The Leafs train F Shawn Matthias to the Colorado Avalanche for F Colin Smith and a 2016 4th-round pick.

The Leafs trade D Roman Polak and F Nick Spaling for F Raffi Torres, a 2017 2nd, and a 2018 2nd.

The Leafs trade G James Reimer and F Jeremy Morin for G Alex Stalock, F Ben Smith, and a conditional 4th-round pick (the condition was that the Sharks make the 2016 Cup Final; they did, so this pick upgraded to a 3rd.)

The Leafs trade F Daniel Winnik and a 2016 5th for Connor Carrick, Brooks Laich, and a 2016 2nd.

The Leafs extend RFA C Nazem Kadri and RFA D Morgan Rielly for six years each. Kadri’s AAV is $4.5M and Rielly’s is $5M.

The Leafs trade a 2016 1st and a 2017 2nd for G Frederik Andersen. In a separate transaction on July 8th, the Leafs send Jonathan Bernier to Anaheim for a conditional pick. All I will point to is Lou took over a team that bottom out, went 29-42, to a 40-27 then a 49-26 record. To think he wouldn’t have continued to have a positive impact is stupid. I would have loved to seen Lou running the day to days, trades, contracts, and let Dubas run the drafts.

To say the Leafs are in a better position today then when Lou was let go is crazy. Again, who knows what he would have done, but Leaf fans thinking he did a poor job are nuts.
