Pavel Zacha

Créé par: Josh4
Équipe: 2021-22 Maple Leafs de Toronto
Date de création initiale: 17 juin 2021
Publié: 19 juin 2021
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
With Riellys contract up next year and Sandin being an adequate replacement for him it could make sense to move him. Zacha finally broke out offensively this year and fits the age of the leafs core. He's also an RFA giving the leafs control for the next couple years. Leafs can use the extra 2.25M this year to add towards depth scoring like Granlund.

Reilly would probably walk in the off-season and with that being said, NJ hasn’t been competitive enough to make that deal make sense for them

Zacha broke out offensively this year. So why would the Devils trade him for a defensemen with one year left? Doesn't make sense for them

Yea that and they already have smith and butcher on there left side. Feel like they would perfer a shut down type of guy for there left side, but in terms of keeping Rielly I think they can be competitive next year and convice him to stay. They also have a lot of cap to sign him.

I havent watched much NJ this year but I figured they needed a top left side dman. Also feel like they'd be good enough and have the cap to resign him.

I think it makes more sense from Devils side if a young d-man would be coming back to us.

Yea, I defenitly made this more from a leafs point of view lol. Really like Zacha on the top line left wing with mathews and Marner.

It’s too much of a gamble to think that they can be competitive enough to keep him after next year. Smith showed that he can more or less handle the top pair so they really need a high end 2-way right defenseman and a 2nd pair shutdown LD. I don’t think that Reilly fills either of those holes and it would be better for NJ to move zacha in a package for one of the younger dmen that would be an expansion draft casualty on a deep team.

I think he would excel there.
Played very well as 1st line LW with Nico (18 pts in 17 games).

Two solutions: find a 3rd party that can offer a young d-man for Rielly so we can flip him. Or trade Matthews and Marner to us. Either work.

That all makes sense. In terms of trade value, do you think the value of Rielly for Zacha and a third is fair?

I think the Devils rather go for a younger defenseman

Also I don't see the Devils trading Zacha

I don’t think it is very far off on either side. There are still a lot of unknowns with Zacha that makes it hard to determine his trade value but if the circumstances were different I could see this trade being made
