Ok now you added bjorkstrand. This is the most valuable piece of the trade (jackets side) This is where it gets shot down by cbj. We’re already giving you 3 firsts one being 5th overall on top of a load of other quality assets. This is too rich from cbj. We’re better off keeping the assets and going into a rebuild. Either we needed bjorkstrand to play with Reinhart and eichel to play with laine or this trade wasn’t going to work.

I’d say add korpi and bemstrom . There’s already a lot going to Buffalo before adding bjorkstrand. I don’t think there would be an apitite to add even more.

The trouble with so many Eichel trades. (or Marner), name your high cap player, is the Eichel's cap. Let's imagine Bjorkstrand and Reinhart is about even. Columbus dumps Domi to a team for a 7th rounder.
So Columbus has 10m in cap space and all those picks by not trading for Eichel. Columbus could do a lot better by spending 10m or a UFA or two, (doesn't have to be this year) and keep all those picks.

Reinhart and bjorkstrand being even isn’t remotely imagineable. One is locked up for 5.4 for 5 years and the other will demand 7+ and may even walk after one. And why would we dump domi. He’s got value. He ended the season tied in points with anderson, he just had a super bad start like 1 assist in 12 games or something. Looked really good at the end with bjorkstrand and Robinson.
But I agree keeping all of the assets and money would be much better compared to dumping them all for eichel who may never be the same after his surgery.

I was"dumping Domi" and making the Reinhart/Bjorkstrand comparison just how to related to the trade. And agree with it's not a good deal for Columbus. I would hate to trade for Reinhart and expect him to sign him as part of any trade . IMO Reinhart is going to sign his qualifying offer this summer so he can be a UFA in 2022. Yea he might sign an extension by a team as a condition of a trade...but wouldn't depend on it.

My bad on the domi part. I misinterpreted that. But we agree on everything else.
