Can't see Arizona doing that for one year of Reilly. Nor does Columbus do the trade if Laine can be signed to just a 6m contract.

Dont include Jones and keep Reilly.

Now a team has the two best scorers from a single years draft and another great scorer from the year before. Who sets them up?

I think the Pens would make that trade.

And just b/c they want to sign a more Veteran backup.

It’s not b/c DeSmith isn’t a proven, capable NHL back-up or 1B goalie. He played great last season. And his career averages are very solid.

And his contract is great. Even if he ends up being a 3rd goalie for the Pens. But they would need to carry him on the roster all year. He wouldn’t pass through waivers.

Agreed. I think DeSmith is probably one of the best back-ups in the league, but the Pens could grab someone like Smith on a $1M contract.

Ya, I keep seeing Jarry trades on here. Granted, he had a bad play-offs. But Sorokin stood on his head too. And we did get pushed around physical. It looks like it just might be the Islanders year too.

And it might have been different if DeSmith was healthy and could have given Jarry a night off to reset.

Jarry still was 25-9, a division winning goalie, still just 26 years old, was an All-Star the year b4, on a good contract too. The Pens Organization wants to sign a vet back-up. Not trade Jarry. Lol.

I would like to see them Sign J.Bernier. Maybe 2M on a 1 year deal.

Also L.Schenn as the 3rd pairing RHD. Ceci played great this season, but we can’t pay him over 2M per in my opinion. He’s not worth it. I think he’s gonna get paid more this offseason by some team.

And with it being a buyers market and most teams cash strapped with this flat cap, there should be a lot of veteran options out there like L.Schenn, who is better defensively, bigger, and more physical than Ceci(and better offensively in my opinion) for something like 1.25M on a 1 year deal.

I don’t know how many times my heart stopped this season when Ceci made a pass across the defensive zone or the crease. And got away with it. He got away with a lot of mistakes last season.

I respectfully disagree on Ceci. I'd be fine maxing him out at $2.5 if they make it work.

As far as Jarry is concerned I think he's a good goalie who while he's not young, just played his first season as a starter so he's early in his development. That said, I don't think the Pens have the luxury of time in waiting him out. The window for Sid and Geno is closing super fast and some would argue it's closed, so IMO if they can upgrade comfortably with the cap then they should do it.
