I think Buffalo would love to take Dumba off your hands. With Risto on the move and Miller headed to Seattle we'll have a need for a RHD.
That said I'm not crazy about your trade with that change but it's fine. Like all Buffalo fans I want Fiala lol

I'm just not sure if AZ makes that trade. It's a fair trade on paper, but AZ is severely thin on C. I also don't know what AZ's plan is. Are they going into a full rebuild? If so, they're probably just looking for futures.

That's just it though. No one with legitimate knowledge has said the Sabers don't or wouldn't want Dumba... just a lot of Saber fans here at CapFriendly instead insisting they don't.

I don't necessarily think Rossi is the prospect Sabres should want either. Boldy however is. You already have Cozens. You'll likely have a shot at one of the 5 franchise centers coming out of the 22 and 23 drafts. Having both Rossi and Cozens is kinda redundant after that point.

I agree with you that BUF could use Dumba but there’s a lot of BUF fans that express no interest in him on this site. Lots of Eichel to MIN proposals have dumbs going to buf and that’s always a sticking point. Wanting Fiala is hard to argue with. He’s electric and I love having him.

AZ has Dvorak, Hayton and Larsson, which isn’t great but I don’t think they’re in too bad of shape. I think their D situation is worse. Look at that depth chart. But def agree on it depending what they want to do. Their prospect pool is quite bad and they don’t have a 1st this year, so they may want to look at restocking some picks and prospects.

My dream is Boldy, Fiala, Dumba and a 1st but I'm not holding out hope we get that much.

Seems dumb to say no to Dumba. He's a legitimate middle pairing D and he's a a candidate as a "cap casualty".

Yeah Dumba is overpaid by about 1-1.5M, but he’s still a very solid top 4 D and is a good leader.

My offer would be Dumba, Rask, Boldy, Khovanov, 2021 1st and a 2022 2nd.

Rask is in there for cap purposes and someone to put on the ice for a year. Given this draft I think a 2021 1st has as much value as 2022 2nd which will be a better deeper draft by all accounts.

I really don't want to give up Fiala when we'd be trying to contend and there are still plenty of concerns about Eichel's neck and possibly losing him for awhile due to wanting surgery. But at this point I wouldn't be surprised given what's been said by our beat-writer Michael Russo that he may just be included for cap reasons.

Is there any fear that someone throws like 9.5 x 6 at Kaprizov on an offer sheet?

Nope, offer sheets just don't happen.

He's ineligible to be offersheeted. He's ineligible for arbitration. He's exempt from the ED. The only team he can sign with is us. He's a pretty rare form of RFA in that regard. Mostly due to his single year of ELC, and the overall games played to this point. He'd be eligible for all that after next season, which is why it's important to lock him up long term. Anything less than 5 gives him all the power in negotiations. Even now he has the hammer, more or less. He's still fully within his rights to go back to Russia until we no longer own his rights, which isn't for another 3 years.

He's ineligible anyway, he can only sign with us, no one else.
