Win now

Explications
In the past, Jarmo and JD have demonstrated that they would rather establish winning culture than lose for draft hopes. I think a winning mindset is a core value to them and they will stay true to that this off-season.

Laine seems like he likes it in Columbus and I believe he will stay. The front office needs to find better centers to play with the talented wings on this roster. The defense can be addressed through free agency.

I highly believe in Beniers and to me he seems like the kind of guy Jarmo covets. Work ethic is second to none, great skater, SMART. He’s a natural born leader who can take over as the face of this team in a few years. I’m not sure the CBJ will be willing to sacrifice whatever it will take to get him, but I would propose something like this; a slight overpay but necessary to get Seattle to bite. People will criticize the trade at first because of the cost to the Jackets, but Jarmo understands that you have to take chances and sometimes they pay off and sometimes they don’t. He has shown so many times that he is willing to take that chance, i.e., Gaborik, Jones, Saad, Panarin, Duchene, Laine. He could play in the NHL now or go back to Michigan to get one more year of growth before signing his ELC.

I could also see Foligno taking a minimum contract to come back and compete with this team and Lars.

I think it's gotta be the 1st for Reinhart... There isn't 1 really solid piece in that trade unfortunately.

Can we stop with the Jones to Colorado trades? It literally makes no sense whatsoever.

I really hate to say this because I know its a sore spot for Columbus but I don't know if Hamilton comes. He clearly wants big money but he also wants to win, which I don't really see in this roster. Maybe they make the playoffs with him but there's no way that they get past the Isles or the Canes or the Rangers or whoever it may be. I hate to say it, but I truly believe Columbus needs a rebuild.

I don’t touch the Seattle trade as there are many other decent options at 5 to pick up.

Are you referring to the 5th overall pick? If so there is no shot it’s getting moved for risto and rienhart. Rienhart could walk after a year and risto is a rental.
And texier being involved in the trade is a pretty good if not overly good trade chip for Reinhart unless a long term extension is in place ahead of time.

No doesn't have to be 5. The Leafs pick was what I was thinking of, especially because Cossa would likely be in and around there for Buffalo to grab.

That is understandable. I heard the other day that Buffalo would want that and marchenko so I didn’t know if that was the new target for sabers fans on here.

I’d do korpi the tornoto first, domi, bemstrom and foudy/ Jenner. For an extended Reinhart and risto.

Leaving Domi out and having both Foudy and Jenner would be my request from that offer. It's for sure decent though.

Id be willing to part with it but I’ve been trying to move on from
Foudy and bemstrom to the disagreement of some other fans but I think they could do better in a different environment.
