I like Gourde for sure, but a 2nd round pick as an incentive is not enough. Yzerman knows what's up, and he's not just going to help out his old pals. Gourde still has value, but over 5 million for 3 more years is a lot of contract to take on. Tampa needs to add a prospect for this to be realistic, otherwise, have fun with your Cap crunch!

Tampa will probably just sit out someone all year again with "surgery", and then insert them into the roster come playoff time.

Tampa values Gourde quite highly, so they very quickly and easily decline this "offer" for him. Johnson will be gone well before '23-'24, and Stamkos will retire a Bolt.
