It’s terrible for both teams. Minnesota needs Brodin WAY more than the leafs. If they leafs do this they’ll be way way way worse, they have no one to replace marner.

What do you mean? JT Miller for Morgan Rielly is a completely fair trade wink.

I mean, as good as Marner is... in the regular season anyway. Your talking about trading one of the best defensive defenseman in the league, on top of one of the best defensive forwards in the league who is a heart and soul type player for our franchise and foremost leader's, and a guy who took a paycut on a 3 year extension when he could of made double what he was currently making in FA.

What the Wild are giving up just isn't worth one single player with a more expensive contract, is a winger when we need centers, and further destroys what little cap we'll have left when you consider what we have to pay for rfa's in the next 3 years.

Not worth it.

Sure, absolutely.

If you want to look at it from a regular season perspective. But the chart @Lyle_Bubas showed was for the playoffs. Each of the three players we're giving up have roughly equal point production to Marner. They have a combined 9 points to Marners 3. Conversely his TOI is twice that of their own. Which means two things. 1) He's a better player overall and relied on more, it's true... but. 2) The lower ice time of the Wild's players is a indicator of being able to roll 3-4 lines consistently and shows our better depth.

Marker is great and all but he’s not worth a top pair defensemen and one of the best defensive forwards plus someone as versatile as hartman who’s a compete bargain for that money.
