That's awesome! It shows they appreciate Spezza, and he still has a little left in the tank. (The fact that he fulfills the 27/54 requirement makes this even better.)

He's gonna sign for league min in Toronto for the rest of his career then skate off the ice and into their player development offices

Shoulda given him a raise, this is a steal and the leafs are just gonna abuse it. They better do better next year or else 😡😡

great 4th C, 30 points last year, as long as he can put up another 30 and be good defensively this is awesome.

Even if you hate the Leafs... you simply can't deny that this is an outstanding contract yet again. Jason, you have shown what it truly means to be a player who simply wants his hometown team to win.

That’s exactly what I came here to say.

Good contract, and obviously not surprising whatsoever. Spezza likes living in Toronto, I’m sure a large part is keeping his family in one place. He’s just playing because he loves playing hockey, regardless of money or whether his team wins or loses. Too bad that another great player is going to retire without a cup ring.
