Description

The Kings are the only team that see haveing a legitimate shot at getting Jack Eichel. They have the pieces in order to get them, aren’t in the same conference as Buffalo (I’m sure the Sabres don’t want to meet Eichel in the playoffs anytime soon), and the Lings are searching for a new Star to build their young core around. By field and Eichel would certainly make transitioning into a true cup team in a couple of years, even with the pieces lost that I’ve shown. They may have to perform some cap gymnastics (probably dump Quick) but it should work out for both teams.

That's a package I'd be fine with as a Kings fan, and about as much as I'd be willing to give. However, I think you're about to be bombarded by Buffalo fans saying it's not enough.

If that's the player package, I think the Kings would be fine with the 1st rounder being the #8 overall from this season.

I think that we'd have to protect ourselves by making the first-round pick the 2022 (as it is here, not as some have suggested) and contingent upon Eichel playing 42 games this season.

I've said since the beginning that I think it ends up being Eichel for 2021 1st + Kempe + Turcotte. I wouldn't be surprised if your proposal ends up being more accurate.

These three posts of mine and their comments to it suggests that Alex Iafallo + Alex Turcotte + the 8th overall pick for 2021 + Helge Grans for Eichel also makes sense for the Kings.

However, one hockey insider (the name is escaping me for some reason) said that the Kings are out of the Eichel sweepstakes.

So, if that's true, any post on an Eichel trade to the Kings is moot.

Dreger said last Friday he thinks the Kings circle back to Eichel...who knows but to be honest the sooner he is traded the better, then we move on from there. Today Lebrun said things are heating up on Eichel so maybe in a week or two it finally get done.
