Don't really see why the Panthers would have to worry about buying out Yandle, or why they'd even consider it?

Plenty of room after next season for a Barkov extension, with Stralman+++ coming off the books, and then plenty of room the following year to extend Huberdeau, with Yandle+++ coming off the books.

based off the last 2 seasons, Foegele isnt much worse than Debrusk

they have 8 million in cap space and are trying to improve next year. Their defense needs to be fixed. Also a lot of the +++ that are coming off the books are low valued contracts that are good producers on the team. They would need to be re-upped of find just as cheap replacements (unlikely).

I mean, I forgot that in Hubie's year, one of the +++'s will be a 37 year old Hornqvist...

I also feel like the Panthers "dEfEnSiVe IsSuEs" are greatly exaggerated, and here's why:
-Lost Ekblad for almost half the season.
-Still finished 9th OA in goals against.
-Ranked 7th in xGA
-Ranked 11th in high danger chances given up.

Being in the top 3rd of the league in just about every defensive category doesn't scream "This needs to be fixed!". Small additions here and there are fine.

I guess when you forget Duclair, Weegar, Gudas, Verhaege, Bennett, and Vatrano all have to be replaced or re-signed over the next 3 years along with Barkov and Hub, the cap gets tight. Then add in any other guys whose ELCs end. But at least you only pointed put the worst 3 contracts. Bravo!
