That's not how the cap works. You have to be cap compliant on the first day of the regular season, this team never will be and has no moves to make to get themselves there.

Evander Kane is in a whole heap of trouble with some other issues, I don't think anybody wants to trade for him right now. And he's an awful fit for this team. This defence is pretty poor (significantly worse then last year) and you're expecting a 20 year old to play on your top line with very little NHL experience.

This is not the play, plus I think Chris Driedger gets more.

Because they're rebuilding, get a 40-60 point Dman, 2 legit prospects and a 2nd round pick and save money..... There's rumours about a Reilly for Kane swap already...

Pretty sure it was Chris Johnston who reported it.

The cap is accumulated per day. Easy to be able to get around this like sending down Engvall. Kane is also very good at hockey and plays with an edge. He was awesome last year. Also, doesn't mean that since I have Robertson on the first line that he's stapled there the entire year lol. It's worth a try tho.

You have to be cap compliant to start the year. Send down Engvall and you play a game with 17 skaters, which is ridiculous to do on purpose. And if you get an injury you are in trouble.

To just throw things at the wall and try them to see what happens is exactly not what an NHL coach is going to do.

Send down Engvall's 1M+ for a cheaper forward man...it's not rocket science. And you wouldn't try a young prolific junior scorer next to two of the best players in the league???? If doesn't work out, move on.. try something else. Teams switch this up regularly on the fly.

He never gave a name, forward in Western conference on non-playoff team, with term, that nobody had mentioned yet (as of like few weeks ago) it was during SDP appearance

Rumors that come from TSN or the sportsnet leaf fan club are not real rumors. They are attempt at click bait for the leaf fan base. Doug Wilson has never said the word rebuild nor will he ever since the building would be empty if he ever did that is the fact of this market. Chris Johnston and Freidman could not find California on a map.

As far as Rielly goes their might not be a player on the trading block in the league San Jose is less interested in. Puck moving LD SJ has in droves plus he is a rental SJ would have no chance of resigning. Not a DW move at all. SJ will get a 3C and multiple veteran goalies. If he can move one of our many bad contracts I'm sure he will but not at the cost of significant futures.

Rielly to SJ is getting to Engvall to SJ levels.
