Not to sound negative but having rookies come in and play top line mins isn’t good way for success. Yes the have the talent and potential but you can’t rush them in and we’ve seen this story before with Edmonton.

With the cap space you have get players to support Mcdavid and Draisatil.

Maybe do a Hyman-Mcdavid-Pulujarvi and then a Coleman-Draisatil-Yammato.

Don’t resign RNH and get Danault. Build a line to shutdown guys. Maybe a Goodrow-Danault-Archibald. I think that’s a better set up for Edmonton personally.

For goaltending instead of buying out Neal buy out Koskinen and trade Neal to Detroit for your 1st rounder this year or next year.

Defence is solid but I don’t think Klefbom is returning so instead sign Alec Martinez. Now you have Larsson-Martinez a literal shot isn’t going through cause they block everything

I have done all that before probably 10 times if you look at my past threads. Why beat it to death. How many times can I do the exact same thing.
First off according to media in Edmonton I think they are going to play Koskinen one more year so the contract is done and they have another buy out on the books. 2nd Tom Gonzola said he heard from an insider that Hall isnt going to sign with Boston and Oilers are a big option.
3rdly Oilers do need some production out of their 3rd line. Not just shut down. We need plus when Drai and McDavid get shut down, which they do.
4th I am not giving a first when my buy out cost is only 1.7 million or what ever. No thanks. I have Jones or Lagesson as a replacement for Klefbomb obviously.
5th Goodrow-Danault-Archibald has been beaten to death and is on about 100 oiler threads anyways. I am not going to the exact same thing as everyone else. Thats not fun

Young players in the past were coming in as the saviors of the franchise vs coming in as complimentary pieces for the two franchise players. Still not advised unless they show they are ready but much different situations then when Hall, Yak, RNH etc were thrown into the fire.
Copenhagen a aimé ceci.

Furthermore the league is getting younger and younger and the kids are more prepared. Ray Ferarro also said he is NHL ready now. The 3 lines are pretty balanced here and they can roll all 3 against anyones top lines. Dont need to worry on the road against other team match ups. I know goalie is a concern still. If we can get say Dreiger or Ullmark for 3 million, than I buy out Kost. but I think there will be a biding war on them.

Fair but don’t give him top line mins right away. It’s still a big leap. We seen Laferinere, Hughes, Kakko and more have some trouble taking the leap. It’s better to have him in a depth scoring role rather than putting him on a wing with Mcdavid and expect him to score.

Lmao relax I’m a Leafs fan just commenting. I’m just making a suggestion cause I don’t really read Edmonton threads.

Secondly the reason I suggest the buyout it’s that it gives more flexibility this and next offseason. With the Neal contract it’s better to give a 1st and here’s my reasoning. This draft is a complete crap shoot. Unless you are drafting Cossa with your pick it’s should be trade bait because whoever you’re drafting doesn’t fit into the Mcdavid and Draisatil timeline. It’s better get Neal off the books completely as when the buyout ends will be McDavid contract year. The year before is Draisatil. I’m telling you this as a Leafs fan. Don’t have dead cap on your roster. The Kessel retention still screws with us today. That extra 1.2 million would’ve help up last offseason and this one. Now with Neals is 1.9 million. 1.9 million can be the difference of keeping depth or losing them for nothing.

Hall is signing in Boston and no way the Nuge sign for that short of term.
