I’d like to see maybe a little better defensemen than Oleksiak, but this is probably the best option so far. I think I’d personally switch tuevo and Coleman, but we all know RBA will change the lines around often

Brady Skjei is not very good. Can't imagine many teams being interested

His underlying numbers are actually solid. Most fans of other teams think he sucks, but he surprises you. He definitely messes up every now and then, but I think a team look to improve their D core may fetch a late 2nd for him. It doesn't have to be Ottawa though, I just used them as an example.

Look at his numbers and watch some of his games from last year in first full season with Canes. He was very solid and a good second pair guy. Might be slightly over priced but he’s a solid to good player.

Because most of the numbers are based on three years and the Rangers wrecked him, his numbers look bad. But 7 regular season games and 8 "playoff" games with the Canes took him off the worst contract list. He has kept up the good play this season as well. Once more year under the Canes and his GSVA and other values will begin to be very positive. Teams probably wont be interested solely on cap hit.

We would have to move Yegor (who probably doesnt come over anyways) and Keane off the scratches list plus take away Oleksiak. We would have 100k left for cap space.

Could we get Svech for 6 to 6.5 on a 2 year deal? Could we squeeze Ned some knowing he doesnt have a lot of starts for comps to get more than Mrazek got for a 2 year deal? Basically trying to make sure we have an extra million + in cap space.

Was Bean playing more with Pesce against Tampa showing that the staff didnt trust Hak to cover up Bean's defensive issues? Someone like Poolman be a better option on the 3rd pair?

Ned makes at least 4 mil next year. Halak might sign for 2 mil. Swap Oleksiak and bean. Having bean play with Pesce will grow beans game, but Pesce can also cover for bean when he screws up. A third pairing of hakanpaa-Oleksiak would be a huge physical shutdown pairing. I might also try to target someone like Nichushkin from the Avs. He is incredibly fast but can really kill you on the kill. Only problem is where to slide him into the lineup
